Elika Consulting Group (ECG), a boutique consultancy focused on strategy, engagement and evaluation, has delivered its first-ever Elevate Sustainable Business session as part of the Pacific Business Village funded by the Ministry of Pacific Peoples.
Held at the Ramada Newmarket on Tuesday 6 August, the Elevate Sustainable Business session was an opportunity for Pacific business owners to network with like-minded business owners, as well as listen to guest speaker Alex Fala talk about his business journey.
Fala, a Samoan Kiwi, is a Rhodes Scholar who has had a high-flying business career with time at international management consultancy McKinsey & Co, and Kiwi companies Les Mills International, Trade Me and Orion Health. He has been CEO, at cloud point of sale platform, Vend (2016), before joining Syft Technologies (a software equipment supplier) in 2021.
“It was an honour and privilege to have Alex Fala share about his inspirational business journey to inspire and motivate Pacific business owners. He expertly covered several familiar topics that are crucial to our business owners during this current economic climate including importance of talent and recruitment, marketing, strategy, and of course, the importance of having a strong balance sheet when running a business,” says Leaupepe Ralph Elika, Director of ECG.
“Alex is a world class business leader and he provided several examples from his business journey that were relatable to our audience, many who face similar challenges and successes in their small businesses. The audience feedback was extremely positive about Alex’s inspirational talanoa as well as the success of the first-ever Elevate session and the need for similar opportunities to uplift pacific businesses.”
